PERRY PILES ON THE RUNS

PERRY OH— The Pirates brought the fireworks early and often on Thursday, using a monster nine-run third inning to cruise past Cardinal 16-2.

It all started in the first when Luke Sivon tore around the bases for an inside-the-park solo shot. Then the third inning rolled around, and things got out of hand quick. A couple of defensive miscues opened the door, then Trent Taylor lifted a sac fly, Logan Buehner drove in two with a single, Sivon smashed a two-run double, and Carter Crofoot capped it with an RBI triple.

In the fourth, Perry poured it on again—six more runs off just two hits. Jimmy Ashburn drew a bases-loaded walk, a couple more errors helped extend the rally, and Connor D’Astolfo brought another home with a sac fly.

Taylor dominated on the bump, tossing four shutout innings with eight punchouts and just two hits allowed. Kaden Soukup came in to clean up the final frame.

Buehner was big from the nine-hole, going 2-for-3 with four RBIs. Sivon added two hits, two walks, and a pair of RBIs to his stat line. Perry showed great discipline at the plate, working six walks and staying locked in from top to bottom.

Defensively, Perry played clean—no errors, one double play, and Michal Niedzwiecki led the way with 10 chances handled at first.

Cardinal managed just two hits—one each from Nicholi McDaniel and Cal Ciminello. Evan Jones knocked in their lone RBI but also took the loss on the hill, charged with 10 runs (only one earned) over 2.2 innings. The Huskies were patient at the dish, drawing six walks, but couldn’t get the big knock when they needed it. Perry stays home Monday to take on Beachwood.
