PERRY PLANTS THEIR FLAG

GENEVA OH-  Sophie Sivon was dealing on Wednesday, mowing down 12 as Perry rolled past Geneva 9-1. Sivon went the distance, giving up nine hits but only one run across seven innings while fanning a dozen and walking three.

The bats were just as loud. Arianna Rogers couldn’t be stopped, racking up four hits on the day. She doubled late in the seventh and slapped singles in the third, fourth, and sixth.

Perry wasted no time getting on the board, with Elise Strahan ripping a double in the first. Then in the third, Rosalyn Tharp went yard, blasting a two-run shot to center to break it open.

Annabelle Bragg took the loss for Geneva, going five innings and giving up six runs (four earned) on 10 hits while striking out three.

The Pirates piled up 15 hits by the end of it. Strahan, Rogers, and Tharp each drove in a pair, while Morgan Winters and Madeline Infalvi added multiple hits too. Perry’s defense had a clean sheet — not a single error, with Tharp leading the way with 13 chances in the field.

Caidyn Siegel was a bright spot for Geneva, going a perfect 4-for-4 with an RBI. Claire Cafaro chipped in three hits of her own. Next up, Perry hits the road to take on Jefferson Area on Thursday.
