PERRY SLAMS THE BREAKS ON WARRIORS OFFENSE
ASHTABULA OH- Madelyn Rupert was dialed in at the plate Wednesday, going a perfect 4-for-4 to help Perry shut out Edgewood 6-0.
Rupert was a tough out all night—singling three times and adding a double to spark the Pirates’ offense. She, Emma Brainard, and Sophie Sivon made the bottom of the lineup a nightmare, combining for six of Perry’s 12 hits while driving in four runs and scoring twice.
The Pirates got on the board early with a knock from Rosalyn Tharp in the first. Sivon followed with an RBI single in the second, and Morgan Winters put one over the wall in the third on an 0-2 pitch to make it 3-0.
That was plenty of cushion for Sivon in the circle. She scattered four hits across seven shutout innings, struck out five, and didn’t give Edgewood many chances to get anything going.
Rogers and Tharp added multi-hit nights for Perry, and the defense backed up their pitcher with a clean sheet—no errors, sharp play all around. Edgewood managed four hits but couldn’t string them together to mount any kind of threat. Next up, the Pirates host Geneva on Monday.
