PIRATES TAKE ALL THE LOOT

PERRY OH- Elise Strahan was unstoppable Monday night, going 3-for-3 with a homer and helping Perry cruise past Edgewood 11-1 in five innings.

Strahan set the tone early with a solo shot to center in the first, putting the Pirates on the board. She followed it up with singles in the second and fifth, and added a sac fly in the third for good measure. Just a full day at the office.

Edgewood answered quickly with a solo homer from Addison Lamson in the second to tie it, but Perry came right back. Sydney Collins launched a solo blast of her own, and Strahan singled in another to make it 4-1 by the end of the frame.

The Pirates kept pouring it on. Sophie Sivon drew a walk with the bases loaded in the third, Madeline Infalvi took one off the elbow to bring in another, and Strahan’s sac fly kept the pressure on. In the fourth, Rosalyn Tharp added some fireworks with a solo bomb to left.

Sivon handled business in the circle, giving up just four hits and one run over five innings. She struck out five and walked two in a smooth outing. Edgewood’s Lucianna Paolillo took the loss after surrendering 11 runs (10 earned) on 13 hits through four innings.

Perry racked up 13 hits on the night. Morgan Winters, Infalvi, and Collins each had multi-hit games. The defense backed it up too—no errors, with Tharp leading the way with six clean plays.

Natalie Ianetta had a strong game at the top of Edgewood’s lineup, going 2-for-3, and Lamson added the lone RBI with her second-inning homer. Edgewood also turned a double play to stop some of the damage. Next up, Perry heads to Geneva on Wednesday looking to keep the bats hot.
