PITCHERS DUEL FAVORS EDISON, BEAVERS FALL

HAMMONDSVILLE, OH- The sun was out, but the mercury was down on Monday, which favored the defensive side of the baseball.  Beaver Local fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 1-0 loss to Edison on Monday. Edison took the lead on a double in the second inning and never looked back.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Edison pitchers struck out 12, while Beaver Local sat down two.  Edison got things moving in the second inning. Anthony Sinicropi doubled on the first pitch of the at-bat, scoring the game’s only run.  A single by Dorian Jackson in the first inning was a positive for the Beavers, one of only two hits on the afternoon for the red and white.  The other came from Carter Wolski.

George Ash led the Edison to victory on the mound. He allowed two hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out 12 and walking one.  Jordan Mick took the tough-luck loss for Beaver Local. He lasted six innings, allowing four hits and one run while striking out two and walking one.

Sinicropi went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Edison in hits. Edison was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Conrad Gump made the most plays with 12.
