PLESKA AND CLIPPERS SHINE IN TENNESSEE

PIGEON FORGE TN- Caitlynn Pleska threw a gem on Friday for Columbiana in their first game in Tennessee, allowing zero runs and besting Virginia High School by a score of 12-0.

Pleska led Columbiana to victory by driving in six runs. Pleska went 3-for-3 at the plate. Pleska drove in runs on a single in the first, a grand slam in the second, and a triple in the third.

The Clippers got things started in the first inning when Pleska singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

Columbiana scored five runs in the second inning. They put the pressure on, lead by a triple by Ava Davanza and a home run by Pleska.

Pleska got the win for the Clippers. The righty surrendered zero runs on two hits over five innings, striking out seven.

Columbiana launched one home run on the day. Pleska went for the long ball in the second inning.

Columbiana totaled nine hits. Pleska and Alaina Johnston all managed multiple hits. Pleska went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead in hits. Columbiana was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Cameron Perkins had the most chances in the field with seven.

The Clippers stole nine bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Ella Dota led the way with two.
