PLESKA GOES YARD TWICE IN CLIPPERS ROUT
SALINEVILLE OH- Caitlynn Pleska went off on Wednesday, blasting two homers and driving in nine as Columbiana steamrolled Southern 21-1. She wasted no time setting the tone, launching a three-run shot in the top of the first to get the Clippers on the board. Landry Smith followed with an RBI single to tack on another. Columbiana didn’t let up from there—racking up runs in every inning they stepped to the plate.
In the second, they padded the lead with more timely hits, and the third inning turned into a hit parade. Pleska kept swinging with another RBI knock, and the rest of the lineup followed suit with base hit after base hit. Addison Brode, Cameron Perkins, and Alivia Bell all came through to keep the runs pouring in.
Then came the knockout punch. Pleska stepped in during the fourth with the bases loaded and crushed a grand slam to center, capping a six-run inning and putting the game on ice. She finished with four hits, two bombs, and a jaw-dropping nine RBIs.
She did it in the circle too—firing four innings of two-hit ball, striking out six and giving up just one run. Peyton Stoy came in and shut it down in the fifth with a clean inning and two punchouts.
The Clippers racked up 25 hits in the blowout. Pleska, Brode, and Maryn Hepler each went 4-for-4, and nearly the entire lineup chipped in with multiple hits. It was a full-team barrage from start to finish.
Southern got a couple knocks and scratched across one run, but it was all Columbiana in this one. The Clippers return home Thursday to take on United, looking to stay hot.
