POLAND TAKES FIRST ROUND MATCHUP WITH INDIANS

Poland scored more runs than Girard, takes victory on Monday to the tune of 5-1.

In the first inning, Girard got their offense started when Drew Delgarbino singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

In the bottom of the first inning, Poland tied things up at one when.

The Bulldogs pulled away for good with one run in the third inning.

Poland put up three runs in the fifth inning. Anthony Koulianos and Anthony Patellis each drove in runs during the inning.

Anthony Perry pitched the Bulldogs to victory. The righthander surrendered one run on five hits over four innings, striking out three. Dino Angelilli and Dominic Elia entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Delgarbino took the loss for Girard. The pitcher went six innings, allowing five runs on eight hits, striking out five and walking one.

Poland racked up eight hits in the game. Mason Planey, Koulianos, and Patellis all managed multiple hits. Patellis, Koulianos, and Planey all had two hits to lead.
