Katie McDonald didn’t allow a single run against Jefferson Area, throwing a complete game shutout and leading Poland to a 13-0 victory on Thursday

Emily Denney led Poland to victory by driving in four runs. Denney went 3-for-4 at the plate. Denney drove in runs on a single in the second and a double in the fourth.

Poland notched nine runs in the fourth inning. The batters contributing to the big inning included Jackie Grisdale, Cameryn Lattanzio, Mary Brant, Gia Schiavone, Leanne Williams, and Denney, all driving in runs in the frame.

One bright spot for Jefferson Area was a single by Tatianna Matuz in the first inning.

McDonald got the win for Poland. McDonald went five innings, allowing zero runs on two hits, striking out eight and walking zero.

Sammi Speakman took the loss for the Falcons. The hurler allowed 15 hits and 13 runs over four innings, striking out three and walking one.

The Bulldogs totaled 15 hits. Connie Cougras, Williams, Denney, and Lattanzio each had multiple hits. Lattanzio, Denney, Williams, and Cougras all had three hits to lead.
