POLAND’S DOMINANCE OF THE DRAGONS CONTINUES

Since 2006, Niles has only one once against the Poland Bulldogs, coming in 2019.  The Red Dragons under coach Doug Foster were looking for their fifth win of the season, but a fast first half slowly turned into a struggle second half with the Bulldogs pulling away and never looking back, winning by the final score of 50 to 37.

On Poland’s side it was JP Genova finishing with a high of 15 points and was followed by another double digit scorer in Noah Huda who had 10 points.  Both Andrew Todd and Carson Maurer finished with a combined 10, six points for Danny Nittoli and two points for Luke Generalovich.

On Niles, they got off to a hot nine point run but fell.  Sam Perrone finished with 13 points, never missing from the corner and Anthony Budak finished with 11 points.  Robert Strickland finished with five points, Keyshon Talley with four and a combined four points for Stefon Dorsey and Matt Kozak.  Niles will host the Mineral Ridge Rams after the break, while Poland will get ready after the break for the battle of 224 basketball edition against the Canfield Cardinals.

After the game, Ian O’Brien caught up with coach Eric Fender and player of the game JP Genova about the game and what to expect next.
