POLAND’S STRONG START ENOUGH TO WIN

BOARDMAN OH- The offense was clicking to start the game for Poland on Saturday night against Boardman. With a 40 point first half they were sitting pretty at halftime. However Boardman’s defense clamped down on them in the second half holding Poland to just 13 points in the final two quarters. The Spartan offense couldn’t take advantage of the Poland scoring drought and still fell to Poland 53-36.

Jackie Grisdale has a big night scoring 27 points for Poland. Morgan Kluchar added 8 while Lizzy Herdman has 7, including a big three towards the end of the first half that ended a Boardman run that cut the lead to twelve.

Boardman was led by MacKenzie Riccitelli and Bella Martin who both scored 7 points.

Poland looks ahead to travel to South Range on Monday for an afternoon showdown for the top spot in the NE8. Boardman will host Warren Harding on Wednesday.
