POTTERS GRAB STRONG SWEEP OF HEATED RIVALS

EAST LIVERPOOL OH- East Liverpool snatched the lead late in the game in a 12-5 victory over Beaver Local on Friday. East Liverpool was down 5-4 in the top of the seventh inning when Mason Ludwig homered on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring three runs.

East Liverpool earned the victory despite allowing Beaver Local to score three runs in the second inning.

The Beavers got on the board in the first inning. They scored one run when Mike Mckenzie singled.

Ludwig earned the victory on the hill for the Potters. The pitcher surrendered five runs on eight hits over five innings, striking out ten. Eli Suznevich threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

East Liverpool launched one home run on the day. Ludwig went deep in the seventh inning.

The Potters tallied nine hits in the game. Anderson Fitch, Malachi Reed, and Suznevich each managed multiple hits. Suznevich, Reed, and Fitch each collected two hits to lead the way. The Potters tore up the base paths, as four players stole at least two bases. Fitch led the way with two.

The Beavers racked up 11 hits in the game. Mckenzie and Colin Dailey each racked up multiple hits. Mckenzie led the offense with three hits in four at bats. Beaver Local didn’t commit a single error in the field. Dailey had seven chances in the field, the most on the team.
