PROSPECTS COMEBACK IN BIG WAY TO BEAT ROTH

STRUTHERS, OH- Roth Brothers 18U started the game out the way they wanted to on Wednesday with a pair of runs right out of the gate in the bottom of the first.  After that, the Prospects found their groove and were able to bounce back with runs in the third, fourth, fifth and sixth innings en route to an 11-2 final.

Frankie Manios showed some signs of nerves early, but after a tough first, was the rock for his team.  Manios’ final line included six innings pitched, giving up 2 earned runs while scattering five hits, and striking out 6.

Offensively, Cam Kreps led the way going 4-4 with 5 RBI’s including a base-clearing 3 RBI Triple in the fifth that broke the game open for the Prospects.  Not to be forgotten, catcher Nick Guarnieri was perfect at the plate as well with 3 RBI.

For Roth, Brendon Hink went 1-3 with an RBI, while Rocco Bernadino also contributed a hit.

Colby Anderson was on the wrong side of the column pitching 4 innings, giving up six hits, six runs while walking five and striking out 5.

For his efforts, Cam Kreps was awarded the Baird Brothers Player of the Game.
