PROSPECTS EARLY LEAD HOLDS UP AGAINST BALLISTIC

STRUTHERS, OH- A five-spot of runs in the bottom of the first inning paved the way for the Prospects’ 8-7 victory over Ballistic despite the boys in blue pushing across four runners in the top of the seventh inning.

Sean Helpy would deliver for the Battling Buccos offensively with a 2 RBI day.  Shane Cato and Jared Mindek also would contribute RBI for the Prospects.  Cato would also nab a pair of bases in the ballgame to lead the team in stolen bags.

Not to finish offensively, Cato got it done on the bump as well going 5 innings and giving up 3 runs on 8 hits while striking out a pair.

Ballistic would actually outhit the Prospects 12 to 7, but were just unable to deliver them home.  Koby Zupko and Bryce Smith would come through in the clutch by driving in a pair of teammates, while Anthony Koulianos, Matt Dubois, and Tanner Egli each drove in a run.

Kevin Schott would pitch 5 innings on the bump for Ballistic and surrender 8 (6 earned) on 7 hits while striking out 7 and walking 5.

Ballistic (2-8) will return to action on Tuesday in the early game at 5:30 against Avalanche, while the Prospects (5-4) will take the main stage at 6PM against Whiting.
