QUAKERS DOMINATE FOR SECOND WIN OF THE DAY

SALEM OH-  Wow … Senior Rylie Troy toed the rubber in both wins today, pitching 15 total innings. Despite a very warm day Miss Troy never let the opponents see her sweat. She struck out 11 Wildcats in this game & got stronger as the game went on including 6 K’s in the last three innings. All three outs in the 7th inning came via the strikeout. Well done young lady!

This game looked like another low scoring close game until Salem broke it open with an 8 run 5th inning to run their season record to 8-9. The Quakers stole 7 bases to impose their will on the scoreboard.

Channing Toy had two singled & stole two bases. Lauryn Barton & Bella Brant also had hits. Chase Toy walked twice, scored twice & stole 3 bases.

Sophie Maniscalco laid down another important sac bunt. Scoring in the game as well were Sami Gainor, Hanna Gaither, Rylie Troy, Jenna McClish,  Madalynn Workman & Mack Zumbar.

Bella Brant & Channing Toy each caught a game for Salem today & again did very well. Salem out stole today’s competition 12-4.

Rylie Troy has pitched 30 innings in the past 4 days & will get two days rest before senior night on Tuesday at Southeast Elementary vs Canton South. Salem has played 17 games which is the highest amount in the area during this crazy spring weather. Hats off to the athletic office & maintenance department.
