QUAKERS DROP HOME OPENER TO MINERVA

SALEM OH-

A large well scattered crowd (including alumni players-thanks) attended Salem’s 2021 home softball debut. Thanks to a great job by our maintenance crew the field was in great shape and so was the weather.

Rylie Troy pitched well in the loss striking out 8 and allowing just 2 earned runs. The defensive highlight of the game was a diving catch down the right field line by freshmen Lauryn Barton. Hannah Kelm was involved in 5 defensive chances with 0 errors. Jenna McClish made a nice catch on a screaming line drive to center.

Rylie Troy and Dorothy Moore each had two hits and an RBI to lead the Quakers offense. Chase Toy, Madalynn Workman and Bella Brant each singled. Leadoff hitter Hannah Kelm scored in the third straight game.
