QUAKERS FALL DESPITE OUTHITTING ALLIANCE

ALLIANCE, OH-  Tough times don’t last.  Tough people do.  Even though the Quakers collected seven hits to Alliance’s five, they still fell 6-3 on Tuesday.  Salem opened up scoring in the first inning. Ricky Enlow singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.  In the bottom of the second inning, Alliance tied things up at three. Hartsoe drove in one when he doubled.  Alliance pulled away for good with three runs in the third inning. In the third Simens singled on a 2-1 count, scoring two runs and an error scored one run for Alliance.

Simens pitched Alliance to victory. He allowed seven hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out two.  Lane Rhodes took the loss for the Quakers. He lasted four innings, allowing four hits and six runs while striking out two.

Salem saw the ball well today, racking up seven hits in the game. Jake Maenz and Enloweach collected multiple hits for QuakersEnlow and Maenz each collected two hits to lead Quakers.  Bell led Alliance with two hits in two at-bats.
