QUAKERS FALL SHORT AGAINST CRUSADERS

SALEM OH- n a matchup of two talented teams, and two special quarterbacks, it was the Canton Central Catholic Crusaders and Jack Talkington who were able to get the better is Jackson Johnson and the Salem Quakers on Friday night by a score of 35-31.

In a game that went back and forth all night long, it was CCC who got the last lead change and we’re able to seal the deal on a late interception and run just enough clock off to make it nearly impossible for a Quaker comeback.
For the Crusaders, it was a heavy dose of Talkington all night long, rushing for 214 yards and a score, and throwing for another score late that pushed CCC ahead. His counterpart did not disappoint either, throwing for 276 yards and three scores (Oesch- 2, D. Monroy) and rushing for another. He also carried the ball for over 110 yards on the night.
Donnie Oesch led the Quakers with six catches for 133 yards and 2 scores, while sophomore Marcus Phillips had 4-56, Dillon Monroy had 2-41, and Caden Swiger hauled in five passes for 32 yards.
With the loss, the Quakers fall to 3-1, and will finish their non-conference slate next week on the road, they take on the Padua Franciscan Bruins.
