QUAKERS ON THE WRONG END OF EXCITING FINISH

ALLIANCE OH- After getting off to a hot start on Friday night, the Salem offense was slowed by turnovers and stalled drives for the remainder of the evening, suffering their first loss of the year 27-21 in OT at Alliance. It was Salem’s first overtime game since 2009.

The Quakers jumped out to a 14-0 lead 7 minutes into the game, but were unable to find the end zone again until the 4th quarter. Alliance took advantage of three Salem turnovers (2 INT, 1 fumble), two of which ended drives in the red zone. Salem was 2-6 for the night inside the 20 yard line.

On a more positive note, albeit in defeat, Sophomore Dominic Maniscalco had a career night, rushing for over 100 yards and a score for Salem.

Salem (4-1, 0-1 in EBC play) will host Minerva next week at Sebo Stadium.
