QUAKERS REBOUND BEHIND WILSON’S COMPLETE GAME

SALEM, OH-  Just a day after suffering a 7-1 defeat to Canton South, the Salem Quaker Baseball Team fired back.  Quaker Skipper, Mike DeBarr gave the baseball to his trusted Senior Southpaw, Adam Wilson.

Wilson never gave the ball back.

While both teams were strong on the mound Wednesday, the Salem Quakers defeated Canton South 3-2.  Wilson allowed just five hits to Canton South.  The Quakers  got on the board in the second inning when Nick Coletta grounded out, scoring one run.  They pulled away for good with one run in the third inning when Lane Rhodes singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

Wilson was credited with the victory and allowed five hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out nine.  Stauffer was on the mound for Canton South. He lasted five innings, allowing seven hits and three runs while striking out three and walking zero. Frey threw one inning in relief.

Rhodes went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Salem in hits. The Quakers were stout in the field as well and didn’t commit a single error. Bryce Owen had ten chances in the field, the most on the team.

Canton South racked up five hits on the day. Throckmorton and Frey each collected multiple hits for Canton South.
