QUAKERS SHAKE EAST LIVERPOOL, STAY PERFECT

EAST LIVERPOOL, OH- The East Liverpool Potter football team dropped a hard fought 20-14 decision to their Columbiana County rival Salem Quackers.

Salem senior quarterback Niko Walter slashed the Potter defense for a combined 346 yards, as the Potter defense did not have an answer for Walter.  Senior wide receiver Jax Booth hauled in 5 receptions for 116 yards and 2 scores.
Potters senior Nick Woodyard led the Potter offensive attack with 10 receptions for 118 yards. Senior running back Derek Carter rushed 17 times for 60 yards and a touchdown.
After a sluggish first half offensively and training 8-0, the Potter offense came to life in the third quarter, scoring 14 points, with touchdowns from seniors Carter and Timmy. Neal.  However, that was not enough as Niko Walter answered  Neal’s touchdown with a dominant drive to take the lead once and for all.
The fourth quarter was scoreless, as Walter engineered a drive that ran nearly 9 minutes of 4th quarter clock.  The Potters finally stopped the Quakers at the Potter 2 yard line, but could not muster a final 2-minute drive. The Potters made a valiant effort and were able to move the ball to the Salem 41 yard line before Walter intercepted Potter quarterback Nate Davis to ice the game for the Quakers.
