QUAKERS SHOOT THE LIGHTS OUT AGAINST MINERVA

SALEM, OH- Salem opened up EBC play in hopes to defend their previous year’s conference title against Minerva. While Salem got off to a slow start ending the first quarter 5-7, they removed the lid from the rim and were able to land double figures in each quarter to end the game with 46.

The defense was the biggest factor in the game and Salem never allowed Minerva the chance to score in double figures any quarter. For the Quakers, three girl landed in double figures with Krista Barley leading the pack with 12, Jenna McClish with 11 and Abbie Davidson with 10. Six additional players also contributed to the widespread scoring for the Quakers. Salem’s defense shined with Abby Perry and Rylee Hutton shutting down their primary scorers and Jenna McClish again landed another charge. Kami Rohm also ripped down 7 rebounds while Rylee Hutton ripped down 6.

The Quakers will travel to Canton South on Saturday.

The JV set the tone for the varsity girls and beat Minerva 45-18 with Reese Davidson leading with 11 points and Lauryn Barton with 8 points. Both teams are now 4-0
