QUAKERS SURVIVE CARROLLTON TO CONTINUE WIN STREAK

SALEM OH- Even though last night was senior night, this evening was the “seniors” night. In the top of the 7th inning Jenna McClish lead off with a single then stole second. After two players struck out fellow senior Rylie Troy hit an RBI single scoring Jenna in what would be the deciding run. Troy & McClish combined to get on base in all 9 at bats. Rylie was 5-5 with a triple, 2 runs scored, 2 RBI & 3 stolen bases. It’s no wonder she’s nominated for Big Dog player of the week. Jenna went 2-2 with 2 walks. She also scored twice & stole a base.

Mack Zumbar & Chase Toy each had three hits & two RBI. Bella Brant singled & doubled. Kylie Skinner, Channing Toy & Lauryn Barton each had a hit. Sophie Maniscalco reached base twice & pinch hitter Sami Gainor was robbed of 2 RBI by a great catch in center.

Rylie Troy was the winning pitcher & now has 10 wins. She added 5 k’s pushing her over the century mark on the season.

The Lady Quakers are now 10-9 on the season. The 10 wins ties for the third highest win total in a season for Salem Softball since 1998 & there’s still a lot of games left.

Salem is now 4-1 in games decided by 1 run.
