QUAKERS WIN ON BACK TO BACK DAYS

SALEM OH-  The Devils went down to Salem, looking for a game to steal. But it was the Quakes doing most of the stealing with 6 stolen bases on the evening. Salem is now 4-4 on the young season & will take their talents down south. They will play 4 games at the Ripken Experience in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee this coming week.

Rylie Troy earned her sweet tea down south as she struck out 11 batters and allowed just 1 run. She struck out 3 of the last 4 batters to earn her 4th win on the season. The Quakers played error free ball on defense & Rylie assisted on all four of her chances in the circle.

Channing Toy had 3 hits including a double with an RBI & a run scored. Chase Toy had two hits, an RBI and scored. Mack Zumbar had two hits including a double. Bella Brant, Rylie Troy & Jenna McClish all had singles. Madalyn Workman stole 2 bases.

Going into the bottom of the 6th inning the focus was on adding an insurance run to the 5-1 lead that Salem was nursing. It was “State Farm” time as Kylie Skinner stepped to the plate & drilled a double to left center gap. Next batter Sophie Maniscalco pushed her to third on a perfect sac bunt. Kylie scored the important insurance run on a single from Channing Toy.
