RAIDERS ADVANCE TO DISTRICTS YET AGAIN

Bree Kohler didn’t allow a single run as South Range defeated Springfield 13-0 on Thursday. Kohler allowed just one hit.

South Range secured the victory thanks to eight runs in the fourth inning. Kohler, Juli Stachowicz, Kelly Szolek, and Jamie Feren each had RBIs in the frame.

The Raiders got things started in the first inning. A sacrifice bunt by Stachowicz scored one run.

South Range scored eight runs in the fourth inning. Their big bats in the inning were led by a single by Kohler, a groundout by Stachowicz, an error on a ball put in play by Feren, and a double by Szolek.

One bright spot for Springfield was a single by Emily Gerthung in the second inning.

Kohler was the winning pitcher for South Range. The righthander went five innings, allowing zero runs on one hit, striking out ten and walking zero.

Abby Joseph took the loss for the Tigers. The hurler went four innings, allowing 13 runs on 13 hits, striking out three and walking zero.

South Range racked up 13 hits on the day. Kohler, Jillian Strecansky, Samantha Susany, and Szolek each managed multiple hits. Szolek, Susany, Strecansky, and Kohler each managed two hits to lead.

Gerthung led Springfield with one hit in two at bats.
