RAIDERS EARN SHARE OF NE8 CROWN

Four hits from Bree Kohler helped lead South Range past Girard 13-3 on Friday. Kohler singled in the second, homered in the fourth, singled in the fifth, and homered in the sixth.

South Range earned the victory despite allowing Girard to score three runs in the third inning. Girard’s big inning was driven by a triple by Kaitlyn Culver and a single by Sophie Griffith.

The Raiders got on the board in the first inning when Juli Stachowicz singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

South Range tallied five runs in the fifth inning. The offensive onslaught by the Raiders was led by Kohler and Stachowicz, all driving in runs in the inning.

Kohler was credited with the victory for South Range. The righty surrendered zero runs on one hit over three and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking one.

Emily Rosace took the loss for Girard. The bulldog allowed 12 hits and nine runs over four innings, striking out three.

Stachowicz started the game for the Raiders. The southpaw lasted two and a third innings, allowing four hits and three runs while striking out four and walking zero

South Range launched two home runs on the day. Kohler had a long ball in the fourth and sixth innings.

South Range racked up 15 hits. Kohler, Gretchen Bartels, Stachowicz, and Reagan Irons each collected multiple hits. Kohler led with four hits in five at bats.

Griffith went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Indians in hits.
