RAIDERS HOLD ON TO VICTORY OVER SALEM

SALEM, OH-  In what turned out to be an outstanding duel between two top-notch pitchers, The South Range Raiders took home a 6-2 victory over Salem on Monday.  The Raiders got things started in the first inning. South Range scored two runs when Ben Rivera singled with the bases loaded.  The Raiders scored three runs in the seventh inning. Jaxon Anderson and Brandon Youngs powered the big inning with RBIs.

Jake Gehring earned the victory on the pitcher’s mound for South Range. He lasted five innings, allowing three hits and two runs while striking out 11. Youngs threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen to get the 2-inning save.

For Salem, Adam Wilson took the loss. He went six innings, allowing three runs on five hits and striking out four.

The Raiders scattered seven hits in the game. Rivera and Jared Bajerski each managed multiple hits for South RangeBajerski and Rivera each collected two hits to lead The Raiders. TheRaiders also tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Rivera leading the way with two.
