RAIDERS KEEP THEIR FOOT ON GIRARD

CANFIELD OH- South Range defeated Girard 10-0 on Tuesday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Jake Shumate got Jake Dohy to hit into a fielder’s choice to finish off the game.

South Range got things moving in the first inning, when Blake Jeffries drew a walk, scoring one run.

The Raiders put up three runs in the fifth inning. Shane Lindstrom, Billy Skripac, and Jeffries each drove in runs during the inning.

One bright spot for Girard was a single by Cameron Herrick in the fourth inning.

Joe Aey was the winning pitcher for South Range. The righthander allowed two hits and zero runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out six. Shumate threw one-third of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Dominik Tolone started the game for Girard. Tolone lasted four and a third innings, allowing eight hits and ten runs while striking out six.

South Range collected eight hits. Wardle, Jeffries, and Tyson Tarajack all had multiple hits. Wardle led their offense with three hits in three at bats. The Raiders stole eight bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Wardle led the way with two.
