RAIDERS MAKE STRUTHERS WALK THE PLANK

CANFIELD OH- South Range is entering the final week of the regular season wanting confidence going in to tournaments. There was a big opportunity to grab a win against one of the top teams in the NE8.  Struthers came to town fresh off a 51-8 win in their last game.  The last time these two teams played, it was a 5 point victory for the Wildcats in the Fieldhouse.  However the Raiders have had home success of their own inside the confines of South Range high school.  They got another huge home win as they held on late for the 42-41 victory.  It was a great way for the Raiders to honor their two seniors Emma Cunningham and Taylor McClish.

Cunningham finished her last game inside the Thriller Done with a game-high 16 points to lead the way.  McClish also had a good senior night on the floor with 8 points.  Chloe Neider led Struthers with 10 points and she hit a buzzer beater three from way beyond the arc to make it 42-41.

South Range finishes their league schedule with the win, but has two non conference tune ups before their tournament road begins.  They will travel to Western Reserve on Thursday.  The Wildcats have to wait until their first tournament game to get the loss out of their system. They’ll host Alliance on Wednesday February 15th.
