RAIDERS POWER SETS THE TONE

CANFIELD OH- At the start of Tuesday, 4 teams were in a log jam at the top of the NE8. South Range, Hubbard, Poland, and Lakeview all came into the day with 1 league loss. Well, that was going to change with Hubbard and South Range clashing. It was a game that the Raiders grabbed control of quickly, and never let it go. They’d cruise their way to a 7-0 victory.

The Raiders power set the tone for their offense. In the first inning, after Reagan Irons drew a 4 pitch walk Kelly Szolek blasted a 2 run shot over the wall. Sam Susany was not to be out done as she stepped to the plate and followed up Szolek’s bomb with one of her own.  Szolek would end the day 2-4, while Susany put in a 2-3 day at the office. Maddie Dado also chipped in a RBI on a 2-4 day. Jamie Feren went 1-3 with a run scored.

Juli Stachowicz dazzled on the mound to keep Hubbard’s offense quiet. She went 7 innings only giving up 2 hits, and striking out 8.

Hayley Croyle took the loss in the circle for Hubbard. She went 6 innings and gave up 4 earned runs on 7 hits. She struck out 10, and walked 4.

South Range will travel to Jefferson to finish their series with the Falcons on Thursday.
