RAIDERS RUN INTO DISTRICTS

CANFIELD OH-  South Range’s two pitchers didn’t allow a single hit, they defeated East Palestine 18-0 on Thursday. Jayli Wilt struck out Leila Martin to get the last out of the game.

Giada Pauline collected four hits in four at bats to help lead South Range to victory. Pauline singled in the first, doubled in the second, doubled again in the second, and singled in the fourth.

The Raiders got things started in the first inning. Samantha Susany singled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs.

South Range scored 12 runs in the second inning. The offensive onslaught by the Raiders was led by Susany, Madison Dado, Gretchen Bartels, Pauline, Reagan Irons, and Jamie Feren, all driving in runs in the inning.

Susany was the winning pitcher for South Range. The righty allowed zero hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out six and walking zero. Wilt threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Anna Yonker took the loss for the Bulldogs. The pitcher surrendered 17 runs on 13 hits over one and two-thirds innings, striking out one.

South Range totaled 18 hits. Pauline, Kelly Szolek, Bartels, Dado, and Susany each had multiple hits. Pauline led South Range with four hits in four at bats.
