RAIDERS SAIL AWAY FROM JEFFERSON WITH VICTORY

South Range jumped out to an early lead over Jefferson Area and took home an 11-4 victory on Tuesday. South Range scored on a single by Aidan English in the first inning, a single by Shane Lindstrom in the second inning, a single by Brandon Mikos in the second inning, a groundout by Michael Markulin in the second inning, and a single by Trey Pancake in the second inning.

The Raiders earned the victory despite allowing Jefferson Area to score three runs in the fourth inning. The Falcons big bats were led by Jack Detweiler and Seve Cantini, who all drove in runs.

Jefferson Area evened things up at one in the bottom of the first inning.

South Range pulled away for good with four runs in the second inning. In the second Lindstrom singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run, Mikos singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run, Markulin grounded out, scoring one run, and Pancake singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Corey Penick got the win for the Raiders. The lefthander allowed one hit and zero runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out five and walking one.

Braydon Throop took the loss for Jefferson Area. The hurler allowed 11 hits and ten runs over four innings, striking out one.

English started the game for South Range. The righty went three and a third innings, allowing four runs on four hits and striking out four

The Raiders had 12 hits in the game. English, Mikos, and Pancake all managed multiple hits. Pancake, Mikos, and English each collected two hits to lead.

Cantini led the Falcons with two hits in four at bats.
