RAIDERS STAY DOMINANT INSIDE NE8

HUBBARD OH- South Range didn’t need one big inning to take down Hubbard on Wednesday—they just kept stacking runs and let the pitching do the rest in a 7-1 win.

The Raiders got on the board early thanks to a two-run shot to center in the first, then tacked on single runs in the second, third, and beyond to slowly pull away.

A well-placed bunt pushed another run across in the second, a groundout brought in one more in the third, and the Raiders kept applying pressure on the basepaths, swiping five total bags—including multiple steals each from Giada Pauline and Gabby Spooner.

Ashley Rupert was in control all night in the circle. She went the distance, allowing just four hits and one run while striking out eight and walking none. She didn’t give Hubbard much to work with at all.

Jayli Wilt and Pauline both had two hits and two RBIs to lead the South Range offense. The defense stayed clean, turning a double play to back Rupert’s outing.

Hubbard had a couple of bright spots, including a 2-for-3 day at the plate from Layla Songer and two double plays in the field, but they couldn’t get much going against Rupert’s rhythm. Next up, South Range travels to Mineral Ridge on Thursday. Hubbard will be at home on Monday against Struthers.
