RAIDERS TIME RUNS OUT IN REGIONAL FINALS

CUYAHOGA FALLS OH- South Range found themselves right back where they were last season in a regional final game one step away from the state semifinals. Last season they fell to Elyria Catholic, and this time around it was Waynedale standing in their way. Waynedale was able to hold the Raiders back and win 55-41.

The Raiders found themselves down in a hurry. After one quarter they trailed 13-2, and eventually saw that deficit balloon to 24-4 in the second frame. The Raiders made some adjustments however and went on a 32-13 run as the game went on.

The Raiders has that twenty point lead down to just one. 39-38 they trailed, but Waynedale senior Brooklyn Troyer was not ready for her season to end. She scored the last 18 points of the game for the Bears and lifted them to the regional championship.

Troyer finished with 28 points and half of those came from the foul line. Alyssa Geiser was the only other Bear in double figures scoring 12.

Izzy Lamparty finished her career as a Raider with a 15 point performance. She ends her career as just the third Lady Raider player to eclipse 1500 points. Lexi Giles added 12 points for the Raiders. Mallory Vidman scores an important 8 points during the Raiders comeback.

Waybedsle advances to the state semifinal on Thursday at 5:30 at the University of Dayton. They will play the winner of Africentric and Ottawa Glandorf.
