RAIDERS WALK IT OFF IN EXTRAS TO OUTLAST GILMOUR ACADEMY

MASSILLON OH-Brandon Mikos threw a shutout and Mike Perry came through in the clutch with a late walk-off single to lead South Range past Gilmour Academy 1-0 in 10 innings on Thursday.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Mikos struck out 17, while Gilmour Academy pitchers sat down five.

A single by Charlie Shepherd in the fifth inning was a positive for the Lancers.

Mikos earned the victory on the mound for South Range. The pitcher went ten innings, allowing zero runs on two hits, striking out 17, and walking zero. He threw 127 pitches.

Paddy Murphy took the loss for Gilmour Academy. The bulldog lasted two innings, allowing two hits and one run.

Ben DeMell started the game for Gilmour Academy. The pitcher lasted seven and a third innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out five.

Mikie Perry went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead the Raiders in hits.

South Range advances to the regional championship on Saturday. They will play Canton Central Catholic at 3:00 at Massillon Washington High School.
