RAIN SPOILS ‘DIRTY BIRDS’ TOURNEY CHAMPIONSHIP

AUSTINTOWN, OH- Rain, rain, go away.

That’s what was on the mind of all baseball fans taking in the action last night between Canfield and Austintown Fitch in the “Dirty Birds Tournament” Championship Game.  Play was halted to poor weather conditions in the third inning where Canfield led 4-1, but Fitch was starting to put the pieces together.

Landon Beidelchies was having himself a night, getting the start on the mound and striking out 4 Falcons in 2.1 innings, while contributing a triple and an RBI offensively.  Josh Juliano was 2-for-2 for the Cards with an RBI and scored twice.

For Fitch, Aiden Webb got the call on the bump to start things.  Webb went 3 innings giving up 4 runs (2 earned) while striking out a pair and walking two as well.  Vinny Sciortino walked twice and drove in the lone Falcon run on a bases-loaded walk.

There’s no word as to if this game will be resumed, however, these two teams are slated to play a home and home 2 game series on April 19th and 20th, and we’ll have you covered right here on YSN.
