RAIN WOULDN’T STOP REBELS FROM TYING UP TOP OF THE MVAC

COLUMBIANA OH-  Crestview took the lead late and defeated Champion 6-4 on Friday. The game was tied at four with Crestview batting in the bottom of the fifth when Brooke Brubaker singled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs. The win puts Crestview and Champion tied up at the top of the MVAC. Both teams have a make up game with Liberty next week.

Champion scored four runs in the third inning, but Crestview still managed to pull out the victory. Hailey Householder, Addi Warzala, and Olivia Zigarovich powered the big inning with RBIs.

Crestview opened up scoring in the first inning, when Karsyn Moore homered on a 3-1 count, scoring three runs.

Kaedyn Sutton led the Rebels to victory on the rubber. The fireballer allowed eight hits and four runs over seven innings, striking out four.

Abigail Meadors took the loss for Champion. The righty surrendered six runs on six hits over six innings, striking out ten.

Crestview racked up six hits. Brubaker and Moore each managed multiple hits. Moore and Brubaker each collected two hits to lead.

Mady Jones went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead the Golden Flashes in hits.
