RAMS BLAST THROUGH JFK

Five runs batted in from Maddy Ylonen helped lead Mineral Ridge past John F. Kennedy Catholic 12-2 on Friday. Ylonen drove in runs on a single in the first and a double in the second.

John F. Kennedy Catholic fired up the offense in the first inning. Faith Holobaugh tripled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

In the bottom of the first inning, Mineral Ridge tied things up at two when Ylonen singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.

The Rams pulled away for good with five runs in the second inning. In the second Ylonen doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring three runs.

Ylonen pitched well for Mineral Ridge. The righthander lasted five innings, allowing one hit and two runs while striking out six and walking zero.

Holobaugh took the loss for John F. Kennedy Catholic. Holobaugh went four innings, allowing 12 runs on eight hits and striking out four.

Ylonen went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Mineral Ridge in hits.

Holobaugh led John F. Kennedy Catholic with one hit in two at bats.
