RAMS CONTINUE TO ROCK THE CONFERENCE

NORTH JACKSON, Ohio — The Mineral Ridge Rams girls basketball team continued their dominance in the Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference’s Scarlet Division with a commanding 65-24 victory over the Jackson-Milton Blue Jays on Monday night.

The Rams (10-3, 8-0 MVAC) set the tone early, racing to a 21-6 lead by the end of the first quarter and holding a 39-13 advantage at halftime. They continued to control the game, outscoring Jackson-Milton 17-3 in the third quarter to carry a 56-16 lead into the final frame.

Ava Hulett led the way for Mineral Ridge with 18 points, while Gianna Gilbert added 12 and Sullivan Sandy chipped in 10. Norah Schneider contributed six points in the balanced offensive effort.

For Jackson-Milton (6-8, 2-5 MVAC), Amani Yasin scored 13 points, with Nora Schwarten and Gabby Kerr adding five and four points, respectively.
Mineral Ridge will look to maintain their momentum in a non-conference matchup on Wednesday, January 15, when they host the South Range Raiders (7-5, 3-3 NE8) at 7 p.m. Jackson-Milton, meanwhile, will return to conference play on Thursday, January 16, hosting the Springfield Tigers (7-7, 6-1 MVAC) at 6:15 p.m.
