RAMS GET JUST ENOUGH OFFENSE

VIENNA OH-  It was a pitcher’s duel on Thursday, but Mineral Ridge did just enough at the plate to edge out Mathews 3-1.

The Rams struck early in the first, cashing in on a triple down the line and an error to jump ahead 2-0. They added another in the second on a clean base knock to center, and that was all the cushion they’d need.

Pitching carried the day. Mineral Ridge got three solid innings from their starter, who gave up just four hits and one run while fanning three. The bullpen locked it down from there.

Mathews didn’t go quietly. They scattered a few hits and pushed a run across, but couldn’t string anything together against the Ridge arms. Their starter gave up six hits and three runs—only two earned—before handing things off to the bullpen.

Mineral Ridge spread the offense out with six different players collecting hits. They also played clean defense, not committing a single error behind their pitchers. Next up for the Rams is a matchup with Jackson-Milton on Tuesday.
