RANCE STAYS HOT, BLUE DEVILS ROUGH UP INDIANS

LISBON, OH- The Lisbon Blue Devils defeated Southern 12-2 on Tuesday thanks in part to Mason Rance, who drove in seven runners. Rance drove in runs on a double in the first, a double in the second, and a single in the third.

Southern fired up the offense in the first inning, when Glover singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.  The Devils would respond by putting up three runs in the first inning on Rance’s 3 RBI double. Lisbon would then put up four runs in the third inning. The offensive onslaught by Lisbon was led by Rance and Garrett Cox, who each had RBIs in the inning.

Junior pitching sensation, Logan Bell, led the Blue Devils to victory on the pitcher’s mound. He allowed eight hits and two runs over six innings, striking out 12 and walking one.  Connor Lewis took the loss for Southern. He went three innings, allowing ten runs on ten hits and striking out five.

Lisbon racked up 13 hits. RanceSeth DonaldsonBellTyler Welsh, and Josh Entrikin all managed multiple hits for The Blue DevilsRance led Lisbon with three hits in four at-bats.  Southern’s Brock Smalley, Josh Pratt, and Glover all collected multiple hits for Southern.

Logan Bell was awarded the LiB’s Market Player of the Game for his work on the mound.
