REBELS BOUNCE ROVERS, RETURN TO STRUTHERS

ROOTSTOWN, OH-  Just a year after the Crestview Rebels stood tall in the Districts, the resilient Rebels are headed back to Bob Cene Park in Struthers after upsetting the second-seeded Rootstown Rovers 8-2 in OHSAA Tournament play.  A five-run fourth inning led Crestview to victory on Thursday. Jeff FeoIssac RicketsCaleb Hill, and Tyler Hurd each had RBIs in the frame.  The Rebels got on the board in the first inning to get the party started via the Devin Turvey single.

Crestview notched five runs in the fourth inning. The offensive firepower by the Rebels was led by FeoRicketsHill, and Hurd, who each had RBIs in the inning.

Turvey was the winning pitcher for Crestview,  he allowed three hits and two runs over five innings, striking out eight and walking zero. Hill threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Cameron Miller took the loss for Rootstown. He went seven innings, allowing eight runs on nine hits, striking out seven and walking zero.

Crestview racked up nine hits on the day. Hurd and Turvey each had multiple hits for the Rebs. Turvey and Hurd all had two hits to lead Crestview.
