REBELS CLOSE THE WEEK WITH A NARROW WIN

COLUMBIANA OH-  Crestview found a way to grind one out Friday, taking down Beaver Local 6-5 on the road despite getting out-hit. It wasn’t the cleanest box score, but the Rebels made their chances count—and cashed in on a few Beaver miscues to get it done.

Eli Cope got the Rebels rolling in the second with an RBI single, and Kameron Grendel brought home another on a groundout to give Crestview the early edge. Beaver Local answered right back with three runs of their own, but Crestview didn’t flinch.

Kyle Booth’s RBI groundout and a key Beaver error in the third flipped the score again, and the Rebels kept their foot on the gas in the fourth. Wyatt Ervin smacked a double down the line to plate one, and Caden Booth followed with a rope to center to tack on another. That made it 6-4—and just enough breathing room to finish the job.

Logan Neff gutted out 5.2 innings on the hill, scattering seven hits and working around trouble. Isaac Unkefer came in to slam the door for the save.

Crestview’s offense didn’t light up the stat sheet, but it was efficient. Cope, Ervin, Booth, and Braidy Willis all notched a hit, and the Rebels wreaked havoc on the bases—swiping 10 total bags. Ervin, Cope, and Booth each grabbed multiple steals, keeping the pressure on all game.

To Beaver’s credit, Aiden Dray and AJ Bowser swung it well, combining for four hits and driving in runs to keep things tight. But Crestview’s defense came through in the clutch—including a slick double play—to seal the deal.

Next up, the Rebels head back into league action Monday at Newton Falls, looking to ride this momentum into another MVAC battle.
