REBELS SURVIVE SECTIONAL SCARE

COLUMBIANA OH-  Crestview leaned on a gem from Zach Davis and just enough offense to squeeze past Berkshire, 2-1, in a tight one Friday afternoon.

Davis was locked in from the jump, carving through the Badger lineup with nine strikeouts over a complete seven-inning effort. He gave up just three hits and didn’t blink after a brief tie game in the fifth.

The Rebels struck first in the second, when Kyle Booth battled back from an 0-2 hole and knocked a single to bring in the opening run. Berkshire answered in the fifth, tying it up on a groundout from Bear Masink, but Crestview didn’t flinch.

Isaac Unkefer stepped up with a sac fly in the bottom of the inning, plating what turned out to be the game-winner. That was all Davis needed as he slammed the door the rest of the way.

Booth, Jayden Kimble, Luke Julian, and Wyatt Ervin each chipped in with a hit, and Crestview stayed clean defensively—no errors on the day. Ervin was a vacuum at his spot, racking up nine chances without a misstep.

For Berkshire, Aiden Pollock, Oliver Miller, and Patrick Brancel managed a hit apiece, but Sam Barcikoski took the loss despite a solid six-inning outing. With the win, Crestview marches on to the district semis, riding a wave of pitching and grit.
