PERRY SOFTBALL

RED LETTER SENIOR NIGHT IN PERRY

PERRY OH-  Perry wasted no time making a statement on Tuesday, torching Conneaut 15-0 behind a big-time showing from Arianna Rogers.

Rogers was locked in, driving in four runs on a double and a three-run bomb to center in the third. She got things rolling early and then dropped the hammer to put it away.

The Pirates dropped a nine-spot in the first inning and never looked back. Morgan Winters walked in a run, Sydney Collins and Madelyn Rupert each knocked in runs with singles, Sophie Sivon cracked a two-run double, and Rogers added an RBI double of her own. Just about everyone in the order chipped in during the opening frame.

In the third, Perry added four more. Rogers crushed her homer to center, and Rosalyn Tharp followed it up with one of her own to keep the fireworks going.

Rupert dominated in the circle, tossing a one-hit shutout with seven strikeouts over five innings. She worked fast, hit her spots, and never let Conneaut settle in.

At the dish, the Pirates stacked up 10 hits. Rogers and Elise Strahan each had two knocks, while the team drew seven walks to keep the pressure on. Winters and Infalvi each worked a pair of free passes. On defense, Perry was rock solid—no errors, no mistakes, all business. Tharp led the way with four clean chances.

Conneaut’s only hit came off the bat of Ashlyn Sherman, but the Spartans had no answer for Perry’s firepower. Perry now turns the page to Thursday’s matchup with Jefferson Area, riding plenty of momentum into the next one.
