RESERVE BLANKS SALEM AT EASTWOOD FIELD

NILES, OH-  The Western Reserve Blue Devils defeated Salem 6-0 on Monday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Ryan Demsky struck out Lane Rhodes to finish off the game.  Western Reserve tallied three runs in the sixth inning. Dom Velasquez and Brycen Jackson all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.  A single by Ricky Enlow in the first inning was a positive for Salem, but the Quakers struggled the rest of the night to string hits together with runners on base.

Ryan Slaven was the winning pitcher for the Blue Devils. He surrendered zero runs on two hits over six innings, striking out five. Demsky threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.  Adam Wilson took the loss for Salem. He went six innings, allowing six runs on 12 hits and striking out four.

Western Reserve totaled 12 hits in the game. Garrett MihalickJosh SlatonVelasquez, and Dallas Smith all collected multiple hits for the Blue Devils .  Mihalick went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Western Reserve in hits.

Wilson led Salem with two hits in three at-bats.
