RESERVE COMEBACK FALLS SHORT IN DISTRICT TITLE

KINSMAN, OHIO- The Chalker Wildcats got out to a four-run lead in the second inning and held on for a 5-4 victory over the Western Reserve Blue Devils on Wednesday.

The Blue Devils scored four runs in the failed comeback on a error in the third, a double by Caylee Selley in the third, a single by Hannah Heath in the seventh, and a in the seventh.

The Wildcats got fired up the offense in the first inning, when Abby Grimm singled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs. Gabby Nieves added onto the lead with a home run in the second inning.

Chalker tallied 11 hits on the day as Hudak, Morgan Strock, and Mia Russomanno all managed multiple hits as Strock and Hudak each managed three hits to lead things at the plate.

Hudak also got the start for the Wildcats as the hurler surrendered four runs on six hits over seven innings, striking out 11.

The Blue Devils racked up six hits as Heath and Selley each managed multiple hits as Heath started the game for the Blue Devils as she lasted seven innings, allowing 11 hits and five runs while striking out four.

With the win, the Chalker Wildcats claim the Division IV District Championship.
