RESERVE PAVES THEIR WAY TO DISTRICT BRACKET

BERLIN CENTER, OHIO- Maggie Byers threw a gem on Wednesday for The Western Reserve Blue Devils, allowing zero runs and besting Lowellville by a score of 14-0.

Katie Byers led the Blue Devils to victory by driving in four runs as she went 3-for-3 at the plate. Byers drove in runs on a home run in the second and a double in the third.

The Blue Devils had their big inning when they tallied seven runs in the second inning. The offensive firepower by was led by Lexi Pence, Hannah Heath, Byers, and Aubrey Kutsko, all driving in runs in the frame.

Byers was the winning pitcher of the day as she allowed one hit and zero runs over five innings, striking out three and walking one.

Morgan Lewis went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead Lowellville in hits as Sophia Alfano took the loss in the circle as she surrendered 14 runs on 14 hits over four innings, striking out one.

With the win the Blue Devils will move on the the district semi-final round.
