RESERVE RAGES BACK ON THE RAMS

STRUTHERS, OHIO- A walk-off left the Mineral Ridge Rams on the wrong end of a 5-4 defeat to Western Reserve on Tuesday. The game was tied at four with Western Reserve batting in the bottom of the seventh when a sacrifice bunt by Brock Wellman scored one run for to secure them their first win of the season.

The Rams started the scoring first when Jack Gillie drove in a run with a single. It was in the bottom of the sixth inning that Western Reserve started to heat up as they scored 3 runs to tie the score up at 4.

The offensive firepower by Western Reserve was led by Jack Darney and Connor Jones, all driving in runs in the bottom of the sixth. Vance Story also had a productive day at the plate as he went 3-for-4 to lead in hits.

Hunter Stacy started the game on the mound for Western Reserve and allowed two hits and two runs over four innings and as well as striking out 7 men at the plate. Brayden Saunders was named the winning pitcher as he went one inning allowing zero runs, one hit, striking out two, and walking one.

Trey Rigley started the game for the Rams. Rigley allowed four hits and four runs over five and a third innings, striking out nine in the losing effort.

The Rams will be back in action when they take on Niles this Friday. Western Reserve will also be on the road when they take on Southern this Thursday.
