ROCKETS GET THEIR SWEET REVENGE
MCDONALD OH- Lowellville got the payback they were looking for Friday night, taking down McDonald on the road in a 34-20 playoff showdown. The Rockets came out swinging and never looked back, sending the Blue Devils packing.
Lowellville struck first in the 1st quarter with RB Geno Perry punching in a 1-yard TD at 3:42, though the 2-point try fell short, making it 6-0. McDonald answered in the 2nd quarter at 9:53 with RB Jayden Taylor tossing a 31-yard TD pass to WR Josh Krumpak, followed by a successful PAT from James Hipple, giving McDonald a 7-6 edge. Just 20 seconds later, Perry broke loose for a 77-yard touchdown run, with WR Bruce Brenner hitting TE AJ Boehlke for the 2-point conversion, flipping the score to 14-7, Rockets. At 5:34, Perry added another 1-yard TD run, and a successful 2-point pass from Willrich to WR Josh Pazel pushed the lead to 22-7.
In the 3rd quarter, McDonald’s QB Kyle Puckett connected with Krumpak on a 42-yard TD pass at 8:30, with Hipple’s PAT making it 22-14. Perry responded at 6:27 with a 76-yard sprint to the end zone, though the 2-point attempt failed, bringing the score to 28-14. In the 4th quarter, Perry added his final 1-yard TD run at 10:27, with another missed 2-point attempt, stretching the lead to 34-14. McDonald’s RB Drew Zajack capped the scoring with a 6-yard TD run at 6:04, though the PAT was no good, sealing the final score at 34-20, Lowellville.
Lowellville now advances to face Malvern in Week 12, keeping their playoff run alive.
